Accommodation

St Raphael’s College has a total of 78 rooms. 69 of these rooms are the traditional dormitory-style rooms, and there are 4 dormitory-style rooms with ensuites. Generally, the ensuites are occupied by students performing Resident Assistant duties in the College. All rooms open into hallways, with doors opening into a common hallway, with egress and access routes. The rooms are serviced once a week, and new linen (sheets and a pillow case) is provided once a week. The remaining 5 rooms are comprised of 5 fully-self contained flats, one of which is occupied full-time by the College Principal. The remaining 4 flats can be applied for by students wishing to undertake residency at the College, however, first preference is generally given to the person who will occupy the position of Assistant-to-the-Principal, as well as to post-graduate or mature-age students. Intending residents should check the latest Fee Schedule or contact the College on (07) 47 277200 for details about prices of these flats and rooms.

The dormitory-style bedrooms contain the following items:

  • 1 bed
  • 1 bookshelf with fluorescent light
  • 1 built-in wardrobe
  • 1 chair
  • 1 internet connection
  • 1 phone connection
  • Carpeted floor
  • Window views either onto the College Courtyard, the College netball court, or the scenic bushland and mountains which surround the College Lockable doors

The ensuites contain all of the items in the dormitory-style bedrooms with the added benefits of a personal toilet and shower.

The flats are fully self-contained, one bedroom flats, complete with essential appliances and cutlery.

All rooms have ceiling fans and bathrooms are located on every level.

Common rooms are available, also, on each floor, for use by all students.

There are two laundry areas in the College, an outside drying area and a dryer. There are plenty of open spaces in the College where students can gather for chats, social events or other aspects of community living.
