On
behalf of the Bishop of Townsville, the Most Rev. Michael Putney,
DD., the College Council, College Staff and Resident Assistants,
we warmly welcome you to the webpage of The Combined Catholic Colleges
of St Raphael and St Paul.
This site aims to assist you in
making a decision to choose one of our Colleges as your preferred
choice of on-campus residence during your period of study at James
Cook University.
At
the commencement of 2006, St Raphael’s College, which is an
all-women’s college, merged with St Paul’s College,
which is a co-ed College, to become The Combined Catholic Colleges
of St Raphael and St Paul. Each College has a long and valued tradition
of providing on-campus accommodation for undergraduate as well as
graduate students attending James Cook University. Further information
about each College’s history, vision statement, accommodation,
facilities, services and events is available by clicking on to the
individual College sites within this webpage.
In both St Raphael's and St Paul's, Residents are encouraged to value mutual
respect and to strive for ongoing personal development in an academic,
social, cultural and spiritual sense. College life is centred on
the exemplar of a Christian community, and it is a requirement that
you respect and be considerate at all times to the needs of fellow
students who live in close proximity to each other. This will mean
that there will be some restrictions on your behaviour. These restrictions
are related to noise, gatherings, and the use of alcohol and smoking.
Of equal importance is respect for others’ privacy and property.
We
invite you to browse our site to explore the various facets which
comprise our Colleges. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you
require any further information.
